IP authentication authorizes the public source IPv4 addresses your application connects from. Add an address to the allowlist, then use the generated proxy endpoint without username or password. This source address is different from the proxy exit IP selected by a country or pool.
Username and password authentication uses the assigned credentials in each connection URL. It is useful when the source address changes or a tool expects proxy credentials. Switching methods updates the connection example, table labels, and export together.
What to check
- For IP authentication, add the public source IPv4 address of the client or server; each subscription supports at most four source IPs.
- Use assigned credentials for username/password access. Never put your account password into proxy settings.
- Apply your changes and wait for gateway synchronization before using your updated access settings.
